Fort Hood soldier accused of trying to sell stolen C-4

WACO, TX (KXXV) - A Fort Hood soldier is accused of trying to sell C-4 that he stole after a field exercise on Fort Hood.

U.S. Army soldier Tyler Glen Patrick has been charged with possession and transportation of stolen explosive material.

A federal criminal complaint was unsealed in federal court on Thursday, that charged Patrick with the crime.

According to the criminal complaint, federal authorities arrested Patrick in Copperas Cove on Tuesday after he tried to sell one-fourth of a pound block of C-4 explosive. The C-4 had been stolen following a field exercise on Fort Hood.

Patrick is in federal custody and faces up to ten years in federal prison along with a $250,000 fine if convicted.

The FBI is investigating this case together with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division.
