Visitation for fallen deputy before funeral service on Monday

BELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

A community honored a fallen deputy in a Bell County visitation Sunday night.

The body of 36-year-old Adam Davis was taken to the Expo Center in Belton Sunday night. Visitation started at 6 p.m. with dozens showing up from the community.

Davis was critically injured when his car flew off the road while responding to a robbery on December 1. On Wednesday, Davis died in the hospital.

"Its been a tough two weeks for us," friend Donnie Adams said. "We've lost a friend, coworker. He was one of the guys on the evening shift. That's a go getting shift because its the busiest shift in any police department because that's where everything happens is on evening shift. He's going to be missed there."

The funeral is set for Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Expo Center in Belton. There will also be a procession to take Davis to the Hillcrest cemetery. That procession will be filled with police, fire, EMS and private vehicles. Drivers should expect delays along the procession route.

The procession will go straight from the Expo Center to Hillcrest Cemetery and will start at around 3 p.m.
