Two TSTC students now face a state felony charge following a high speed chase through traffic Monday afternoon.

Evan Coulon Devillier, 28, and Charles Lee Wilson, 20, have been charged with a state jail felony of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Authorities say Wilson posted $3,000 bond and was released Tuesday morning. Devillier remains in jail.

DPS Spokesman DL Wilson says a trooper was driving on Lake Shore Dr. Monday afternoon, when he noticed a Yamaha and Suzuki motorcycle coming toward him at a high rate of speed.

As the trooper turned around to stop them, the motorcyclists sped up and fled, turning onto FM 933. The trooper reported they were weaving in and out of traffic at a high speed trying to get away from the trooper.

The motorcyclists ended up on Clifton St., near Waco Dr., whey they drove behind a liquor store in an attempt to hide from the trooper.

Unbeknownst to them, another trooper was nearby and saw them trying to hide behind the store.

The offense went from a possible speeding ticket to a state jail felony of evading with a motor vehicle because they attempted to flee and their actions in traffic.
