Area man arrested for assaulting his grandmother

A 35-year-old man who spent over four years in prison for injuring his grandmother, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her again.

Steven Louis Eads Jr. is accused of injuring and threatening his 87-year-old grandmother after she refused to give him her checkbook to get money.

Eads is also accused of forcibly removing her emergency call device from around her neck when she tried to push the button to call for help.

The woman's health care nurse and her cousin both called police following the incident, which occurred on November 20. Eads was taken into custody on Saturday.

He was arrested in 2007 by Robinson police for assaulting the same woman. He was convicted and sent to prison.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice confirms that he was in prison from November 2007 until May 2012 on charges of injury to the elderly and forgery.
