Man found not guilty of 2012 shooting incident

A Waco man has been found not guilty of a shooting incident involving him and his daughter's boyfriend.

A jury found Joe Earl Carroll not guilty of aggravated assault for an incident back in March 2012. The trial was held in 54th District Court.

Carroll was accused pulling out a gun and firing a shot that grazed his daughter's boyfriend's cheek, during an argument.

After the non guilty verdict came down, Abel Reyna, McLennan County Criminal District Attorney, released a statement on the verdict.

"While we may disagree with the jury's verdict, we certainly respect their verdict and the time they took considering all the evidence."
