TEMPLE -
UPDATE: Travell Harvey has been given five years probation for abandoning or endangering a child.

A Temple man was arrested after police found a child walking in the road and determined that he left two young children home alone.

Travell Harvey, 27, faces a charge of abandoning or endangering a child on November 4.

Temple officers were called out to the 700 block of S 36th St. after someone saw a small child walking in the road, wearing a diaper and t-shirt.

The person who reported that to police said they tried to find a parent, but were unable to find anyone.

A Temple officer heard an infant crying from a home nearby and went to investigate. The officer found an infant in the home and the infant's leg was trapped between slats in the crib. No adults were found in the home.

Officers determined that Harvey was the resident of the home. They located Harvey and he told officers that he left the children in the care of a woman while he took his girlfriend to work.

After additional investigations, officers found that there had been no one at the home when Harvey left the children alone.

The Bell County District Attorney's Office reviewed the case on Wednesday and they issued a complaint charging Harvey with endangering a child.
