Pregnant woman attacked in her driveway

Posted:
WACO -

It lasted just a few moments, but they were the most frightening one woman had ever encountered.

Seemingly safe in her own driveway on the 1200 block of New Road, this mother of four was violently attacked by a purse snatcher with her kids in the car last night around 8:00pm.

She is pregnant with her fifth child and all four of her kids were in the car when she was attacked.

"I was screaming and hollering for help and I blocked him from hitting my stomach," said Rosa Linda Helena Perez.

"We pulled into the driveway and he was waiving something in the air and then before I knew it I was hit in the side of my face," said Rosa Linda.

Her oldest daughter, thirteen-year-old Eliza Morales fought for her.

"Move she's pregnant! Don't hit her," Eliza said and explained the attack.

"And that's when he hit her and then my mom she kind of like fell but she caught herself and I caught her too. He grabbed the purse.  He ripped my purse off of me and it broke on my side of the door," she said.

Then Eliza jumped from the car and chased after him.

But Rosa Linda thought she had seen this man before.

A couple of months ago a suspicious man was lurking around her work parking lot.

That same day her car was broken into.

"It's very scary whenever your identification is taken from you and your credit cards and everything is taken from you because the person now has a clue of where you stay at," said Rosa Linda.

She believes the two cases are related

"I mean you're not safe no more.  I mean seriously you're not safe. I was helpless"

Waco police have not caught this person and do not have any suspects in the case.

Rosa Linda and her unborn baby are okay. She suffered some minor injuries.  Her four kids were not injured.

She's going to upgrade her security system and she wants to warn people to be careful, even in your own driveway.
