Police arrest man accused of running over man with pickup

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A 21-year-old man is in the McLennan County Jail for allegedly running over a man he was arguing with.

Gilbert Eckhardt faces a charge of aggravated assault for an incident on October 14, outside the Crying Shame Bar, located in the 7000 block of Sanger Ave. in Waco.

According to Waco police, a 34-year-old man had gotten into an argument with two other people in the bar.

Police say he went out to the parking lot, and one of the people he was arguing with got into a Dodge pickup truck and ran over the 34-year-old man.

The victim was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, with what police described as "significant injuries." He has since been transported to Scott & White Hospital.

Police obtained a warrant and arrested Eckhardt, who remains in the McLennan County Jail.
