Woman arrested outside Killeen house fire identified

Fire crews were able to contain a fire that started inside a Killeen home shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning and authorities have arrested a woman suspected of starting the fire.

Killeen Fire Marshal James Chisolm tells News Channel 25 that the fire was incendiary in nature and a woman has been arrested at the scene.

56-year-old Ejean Miller was arrested and charged with arson. The case was screened by the DA and the investigation was done by Killeen Fire Marshals.

The fire occurred at a home in the 3800 block of Oak Valley Dr. in Killeen and the residents got out in time.

Investigators say it appears the fire was the result of a domestic disturbance that escalated. They say some type of accelerant was placed in several spots throughout the home and ignited in at least one spot.

Authorities report no injuries during the fire and it was contained about 7:15 a.m. There was heavy damage to one room and smoke damage reported throughout the home.

Samples of the suspected accelerant have been shipped off to a lab for analysis.
