One man dead following accident in Chilton

CHILTON, TX (KXXV) -

A 26-year-old McGregor man was pronounced dead following a collision between an 18-wheeler and a car Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred about 12:41 p.m. in Chilton, on Business Highway 7, near County Road 493.

Authorities have identified Christopher Miller as the man who was killed during the accident.

According to a DPS Trooper, the collision happened as a 2007 Chevy Impala was heading westbound on Business Highway 7. The trooper says the driver, Miller, lost control in the rain and then entered the eastbound lanes.

The car was hit on the passenger side by an 18-wheeler heading eastbound. The trooper reports that Miller was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured during the accident.
