Waco Police were able to arrest two burglary suspects from two separate burglary attempts early Thursday morning.

20-year-old Angelo Martin Lopez has been charged with three counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and 22-year-old Andrew Monrial Jr. was charged with burglary of a habitation, and additional charges may be filed later, for two separate burglary attempts.

Police say they were notified of the first incident after someone saw Lopez breaking into a vehicle. Officers responded to the Raintree Apartments, located in the 6800 block of Tennyson, at 1:15 a.m.

They were able to catch Lopez at the scene and found that he had broken into at least three vehicles in the parking lot. Police say they were able to recover the stolen items and return them to the owners.

According to police, the second burglary attempt occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday morning. Police say Monrial entered the garage of a home in the 2000 block of Hill Rock to steal music equipment.

The home owner was alerted to Monrial in the garage and confronted him. Monrial was wrestled to the ground, but eventually managed to get away and flee on a bike.

Officers arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter in the area. They were able to arrest Monrial after he made his way back to his car. Police say they recovered the stolen property and returned in to the owner.

Police also found other items they believe had been stolen as well. Police say it appears as though Monrial removed his back seat to make more room for all the stolen property.

UPDATE: On November 20, a McLennan County Grand Jury returned indictments against Monrial. The indictments were for three charges of burglary of a habitation.
