Man arrested on charges of indecent exposure and aggravated assault

Posted:
MCLENNAN COUNTY -

A 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges in multiple cities, after police say he pulled a gun on a woman and exposed himself to people in restaurant parking lots.

Manuel Zavala was charged with aggravated assault in Waco, and indecent exposure in Lacy Lakeview, for separate incidents in the two cities. He is being held in the McLennan County Jail.

Police say the aggravated assault charge is in connection with a September 28th incident at the CEFCO Store, located in the 3000 block of Gholson Road in Waco.

A woman told police she was pumping gas, when a man, later identified as Zavala, in a gold pickup pulled up, got out, and asked for directions. The woman told police Zavala then pulled a gun on her and told her not to move.

Police say the victim fled after another car pulled up to the pumps. Police got video of the incident from the store's camera, and put it on Facebook. Police got help identifying Zavala and then obtained a warrant.

As the aggravated assault investigation was going on, Lacy Lakeview and Bellmead Police began looking for a man, later identified as Zavala, who is accused of exposing himself to employees in the parking lot of fast food restaurants on different occasions.
