Area woman accused of stealing more than $12,000 from employer

Waco Police have arrested a 52-year-old woman accused of stealing more than $12,000 while working at a Waco area store.

Danielia Renee Miller turned herself in to the McLennan County Jail on Sunday and was charged with theft less than $20,000.

Miller is accused of stealing money while working for RAC Acceptance, which is located in the Ashley Furniture location in the 5600 block of Bagby. RAC Acceptance is the in house finance company located within Ashley Furniture.

A short time after working at that location, police say Miller began taking money from cash registers and taking cash customers were using as payment.

Police say they were called by loss prevention on September 19 about money missing from cash registers. Police say an estimated $12,861.99 was stolen from the store.

The store suspected an employee working there, and after an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Miller on October 4. She turned herself in on Sunday.

CLARIFICATION: Miller is accused of stealing money from RAC Acceptance, located inside Ashley Furniture, not the Ashley Furniture store.
