Man arrested on burglary arrest warrant after running from police

Posted:
WACO -

A man was arrested on a burglary arrest warrant after leading police on a foot chase following a routine traffic stop on Sunday.

Police pulled over a vehicle with six people inside on Sunday, and one of the passengers jumped out and took off running.

After a two block foot chase, Jacky Rios was found hiding in a creek and police took him into custody. Rios had a burglary warrant out for his arrest, in connection with a burglary that took place in the 2600 block of Jefferson Ave., on August 26.

Officers determined he was living at the Lone Star Motel, in the 2400 block of LaSalle. When officers arrived there, they found more stolen items in his motel room, including computers, cameras and multiple cell phones.

They hope to clear a number of burglaries with the stolen items they found.

The driver of the vehicle was also arrested for driving with a suspended license.
