Police arrest local man for threatening kids with gun

Waco Police have arrested a 24-year-old man after police say he threatened kids with a handgun on two separate occasions.

Darryl Louis Robinson has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault for incidents on September 12 and 13.

According to police, on September 12, two kids, a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old, were playing outside in the 1200 block of Ross Ave., near the Kate Ross Apartments. Police say a man, later identified as Robinson, approached the kids and threatened them with a handgun.

The kids ran away and told their mom, and she was initially afraid to call police for fear of retaliation.

The next day, police say Robinson threatened a 16-year-old boy with a handgun. The 16-year-old boy was the brother of the other kids Robinson allegedly threatened the day before.

After the second incident, the kid's mother called police and police identified Robinson as a suspect. They then obtained a warrant and arrested him on three counts of aggravated assault.
