WICHITA FALLS -

Wichita Falls Police have served warrants against two women suspected of murdering a Moody man three years ago and an arrest warrant has also been served for a third suspect who was in a Las Vegas jail.

43-year-old Leslie Ann Acosta and her sister, 41-year-old Rebecca Camilla Hernandez were already in jail on other charges in Wichita County.

Acting on a tip from another inmate, police say Acosta confessed she and Hernandez stabbed Nickalaus Shaffer February 3, 2010, and Corey Raiford, the boyfriend of one of the women, shot him.

43-year-old Corey Raiford was in custody of the Clark County Jail in Las Vegas for unrelated charges, and he has now been served with a murder arrest warrant out of Wichita Falls.

Shaffer's body was found in a ditch in a rural area near Wichita Falls on February 4th.  His mother says she dropped him off at the Greyhound Bus Station in Waco the day he was killed and a friend names "Corey" was supposed to pick him up.  The two were going to drive to Las Vegas.

Bond has been set at $1 million for Hernandez.

After the prosecution rested just before 11 a.m., it was the defense's turn to call up witnesses. Petetan's attorney's stressed to the jury that they were...More >>
