Baylor University and McLennan community college announced their new Baylor Bound program, Monday.
Baylor Bound will allow students who enroll at MCC and want to transfer to Baylor to plan a path of either one or two years at the community college before they transfer.
The new three-year pilot program aims to make transferring easier.
Baylor President Ken Starr says he hopes the new partnership sends a message to current and future MCC students.
"Through careful planning, you too can go on to a four-year institution, whether it's right here at university center, or as we hope, you'll become Baylor Bears!" says Starr.
The Baylor- Bound program so far includes 66 different majors.
MCC president Dr. Johnette McKown says the new program may lead to higher enrollment numbers.
Baylor currently has almost 500 transfer students but Starr says they definitely have room for more.
