Temple motorcyclist dies in crash, identified

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) -

A Harker Heights man involved in a motorcycle accident has died from his injuries.

Police say 23-year-old William Truitt, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was taken to Scott and White Hospital.

The accident happened around 6:30pm on Friday on the intersection of FM 93 and South 31st Street. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a maroon GMC sports utility vehicle had been traveling east bound on FM 93.

The GMC attempted to turn left (northbound) on South 31st Street, police say. A Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on FM 93 collided with the rear quarter panel of the sports utility vehicle.

The Temple Police Department's Traffic Investigations Unit responded, and is investigating the accident.
