Man arrested for intentionally ramming a car with people inside

A man was taken into custody after police say he intentionally rammed his own vehicle while people were inside.

Lee Joseph Chernoff faces two counts of aggravated assault for an incident that happened just after 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday. His bond has been set at $125,000 for the two charges.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 2600 block of Westbury Circle late Tuesday night. They were told that Chernoff was trying to sell his 1998 BMW. Another man and his girlfriend were there to buy the car.

Officers report that Chernoff and the other man were arguing about the price of the car. Chernoff is accused of getting in his 2004 Hummer and ramming the other man and his girlfriend while they were in Chernoff's BMW.

Chernoff and the male victim were taken to Hillcrest, but were checked out a short time later. Chernoff was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
