Gatesville Police arrest man accused of sexual assault

Gatesville Police arrested a man accused of forcing a 22-year-old woman to have sex with him.

Noah Clayton Askew has been booked into the Coryell County Jail and charged with sexual assault for an incident that happened earlier this year.

On January 31, 2013, Gatesville Police were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of State School Road about a sexual assault that had taken place. The 22-year-old victim told police that Askew had allegedly forced her to have sex with him.

The victim was taken for a forensic exam, and DNA was taken. It was forwarded to a Texas Department of Public Safety Laboratory for analysis.

Investigators were notified on August 26 that the sample taken from the victim matched Askew's DNA.

A warrant charging Askew with sexual assault was obtained on August 30 and he turned himself in to police.
