Authorities are looking into an incident at the Temple VA Hospital, after a veteran walked into a restroom at the hospital, and shot himself.

A VA spokeswoman says the veteran was dropped off at Olin E. Teague Veteran's Medical Center Monday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., he shot himself in the bathroom of the VA hospital.

The condition of the man is unknown at this time, but he was rushed to Scott and White Hospital.

The VA spokeswoman says the building does not have metal detectors and it is believed the man brought the gun inside.
