No. 9 Baylor Soccer Receives Highest-Ever Ranking in NSCAA Poll

Bears' previous high in the poll was 11th in final two polls of 2012 season

WACO, Texas – Off to its best start of the Jobson era at 4-0-0, Baylor soccer received its highest-ever spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire national poll by coming in at No. 9 in Tuesday's rankings.  The Bears' previous high was No. 11 in the final two rankings of 2012.

With a program-record four straight shutouts to open the sixth season under BU Co-Head Coaches Marci and Paul Jobson, Baylor has its best start since 2002, is unbeaten in a program-best 25 straight matches and 11 straight road matches, and has not given up a goal in 398:21 minutes, dating back to last season.  The Bears own edges over their opponents in goals (13-0), shots (84-28), shots on goal (44-8), assists (10-0) and corner kicks (18-8).

The Bears are the highest ranked Big 12 team in the NSCAA poll and one of only two teams representing the league as West Virginia is at No. 19.  Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Kansas all received votes.

Baylor is also ranked in the top 20 of three other polls this week.  Top Drawer Soccer and BennettRank have the Bears at No. 7 and Soccer America has BU at No. 18.

Baylor continues a season-long four-match road trip with a pair of contests in College Station, Texas, this weekend. BU takes on former Big 12 members Missouri on Friday at 4 p.m. CT and No. 24 Texas A&M at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
