Buckholts officer led on wild high-speed chase

A Buckholts police officer was led on a high speed chase that ended in the suspect being arrested.

Buckholts police says he tried to pull a motorcycle over early Saturday evening for a hidden license plate. That's when the driver took off leading the officer on a 90 plus mile an hour chase between Rogers and Buckholts.

The driver eventually swerved to avoid an oncoming car on County Road 111 and went into the shoulder.

Police say the motorcycle burst into flames and the driver ran off. Police, Milam County Sheriff's Office and a DPS helicopter set a five mile perimeter to catch the man.

A deputy eventually caught him and arrested him. The Sheriff's Office is not releasing the man's name at this time. He faces possible felony evading charges. It's unclear why he decided to run away.
