FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - Relatives of those killed and survivors of the Fort Hood shooting rampage have mixed feelings about the death sentence a military jury handed down.

The panel sentenced Maj. Nidal Hasan to death Wednesday. He was convicted of killing 13 people in 2009 and wounding dozens of others.

Eduardo Caraveo, whose father Libardo Eduardo Caraveo was killed, says he wanted Hasan held accountable, but feels the death penalty gives him what he wants. Caraveo says "it seems everything was dictated on his terms."

Kathy Platoni, who struggles with images of Capt. John Gaffaney bleeding to death at her feet, agrees Hasan views the death penalty as a path to martyrdom but feels he "doesn't deserve to live."

Hasan acted as his own attorney and presented no defense during the trial.
