TEMPLE -

Two Temple Police officers were injured as a drunk driver slammed into patrol cars while they were arresting an intoxicated man.

Officers were investigating an intoxicated subject in the 200 block of Southeast HK Dodgen Loop Saturday Morning at 2:30 A.M.

While officers were arresting a man for public intoxication, Gary Bruce Couch Jr, 28, drove his Lexus into the back of one of the parked patrol cars, causing it to slam into the other officer's car, injuring the officers and a FireFighter on scene.

The two officers were sent to Scott and White Hospital with minor injuries but released back to duty that night. The FireFighter received minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

Couch was arrested for DWI.
