Public Invited to August 17th Scrimmage

From Texas A&M Athletic's Department:

SATURDAY, AUG. 17 SCRIMMAGE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

COLLEGE STATION—Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin announced the Saturday, Aug. 17 football scrimmage at Kyle Field will be open to the public. The scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. central.

Fans may park in the surface lots surrounding Kyle Field, as long as the space is not a 24-hour reserved or a marked handicap space without the proper permit.

Entrance to the stadium will be from the west side first deck. Fans will need to sit on the west side (press box) of the stadium in the first deck.

No video or photography is allowed.

The following Saturday, Aug. 24 is "Meet the Aggies," presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors. The event will be held at the Gilliam Indoor Track Complex from 1:30 until 3 p.m. The complex is located at the south end of Kyle Field adjacent to Wellborn Road.

Fans participating in "Meet the Aggies" will receive an autograph card. In order to accommodate as many fans as possible, this will be the one and only item coaches and players will sign. They will also remain seated to sign, so there will not be an opportunity for posed photographs. A limited number of 2013 schedule posters will also be available.

No other items—for example, helmets, footballs, jerseys and photos – will be allowed in the Gilliam Indoor Track Complex.

Parking for the event is free in surface lots 61 and 62, which is the parking lot on the press box side of Kyle Field off of Wellborn Road, as well as the surface lot across the railroad tracks at Kimbrough and Wellborn Road.

The Aggie squad will have to depart promptly at 3 p.m. in order to prepare for that day's practice, which is closed to the public.

Texas A&M kicks off the 2013 football campaign against Rice at noon on Aug. 31 at Kyle Field. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
