I-35 back open after 18-wheeler accident

MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

Part of I-35 is back open after being shut down for several hours after an 18-wheeler got in an accident and caught fire Tuesday morning.

DPS troopers say an 18-wheeler got in an accident and caught fire Tuesday morning. The road was damaged by the diesel spill and fire caused by the 18-wheeler accident.

According to TxDOT, crews had to tear up and replace the pavement near exit 322 on I-35, which took several hours. They were able to have I-35 back open Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic was backed up for several miles through Lorena for most of the day.
