UPDATE: Body found in Moffat mobile home identified

Posted:
MOFFAT -

A badly decomposed body found in an abandoned mobile home Sunday afternoon has been identified.

The body has been identified as 36-year-old James Robert Moore of Moody. Moore's family says they last saw him three weeks ago.

Bell County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Donnie Adams says they responded to an abandoned mobile home on FM 2409 in Moffat at 3:46 Sunday afternoon. Adams says a next door neighbor was walking along when he saw the body in the home, and the body is in heavy stages of decomposure.

Authorities say the body was taken to Dallas for an autopsy. Adams also says at this point there's no suspicion of homicide, but they're still trying to determine the cause of death.

The man was declared dead by a Justice of the Peace Don Engleking at 5:15 Sunday afternoon.
