Police pursuit ends when suspect crashes into home

BELLMEAD, TX (KXXV) -

Police have arrested the man who injured multiple people after he crashed through the front of a home in Bellmead Sunday evening.

Noel Zapata Rodriguez has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a public servant, evading arrest and resisting arrest. Rodriguez is on $435,000 bond.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call between a man and a woman in the 4400 block on Concord Road a little after 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

When police arrived, the man took off in his vehicle. After a low speed chase through town, the pursuit came to an end when the suspect ran the vehicle into his ex-girlfriend's house with people inside.

Police say Rodriguez fought with officers as they tried to arrest him. Officers had to use a stun gun on Rodriguez to get him under control.

Police say Rodriguez was ramming his ex-girlfriend's car outside the house before police arrived on the scene. The ex-girlfriend was not in the car when Rodriguez was ramming it.

BPD says there were four people in the home. There were three children and one adult and multiple injuries were reported, but they are all non life-threatening.
