Two Houston attorneys have filed a suit against CF Industries on behalf of a property owner whose rental properties were destroyed by the West fertilizer explosion.

The suit seeks compensation for J&B Realty after some rental properties they owned and operated in West were damaged or destroyed by the fertilizer explosion.

An entire apartment complex owned by J&B Realty was destroyed by the blast and several other of their properties were made uninhabitable after the explosion.

"The apartment complex that we represent was completely destroyed by the blast," said one of the attorneys filing the lawsuit, Mo Aziz. "In addition to structural damages, we are also claiming business interruption losses, that is, lost rental income."

According to reports, the West explosion led to more than $100 million worth of property damage.
