Non-profit to West residents: the gas is on us

WEST, TX (KXXV) -

West residents saw some relief at the pump today.  That's because a Dallas-based non-profit gave them free gas.

SoupMobile also filled up tanks for city emergency crews and volunteers.  Each vehicle that came through the Chevron station in West between noon and 3pm got $20 worth of free gas.

SoupMobile's Executive Director, David Timothy says, "The SoupMobile decided to pump gas because we know that a lot of the residents aren't in their homes anymore and are living out of town, so they're doing a lot of driving. We felt this was the best way that we could help them. With free gas money."

This isn't the first time the SoupMobile has rolled through West.  They had a gas giveaway back in April. As you can imagine, it was wildly popular.

Timothy says they'll host a third giveaway if they can.
