Police identify man killed in fiery crash on July 21

LORENA, TX (KXXV) -

A 64-year-old man was killed in a fiery, one vehicle accident in Lorena on July 21. The crash happened at 9:53 p.m. on the southbound side of I-35, near mile marker 323.

Police have identified the driver as Ronald Israel of Elm Mott.

Israel was driving a pickup truck that was outfitted as a service truck, was heading southbound on I-35. His truck went off the road and then Israel over corrected.

He struck the end of a guard rail, flipped over and then the truck burst into flames. The truck was carrying welding equipment along with oxygen and acetylene bottles.

Lorena fire unites were able to extinguish the blaze, but Israel was pronounced dead at the scene.
