75 employees affected by Waco plant closure

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

Myers Industries Inc's Lawn & Garden Group announced the closure of their Waco plant Thursday.

According to the company, 75 employees will be affected by the plant closure. A number of them will be transferring to other Myers Industries operations.

"The Waco team has made progress in its ability to competitively service the market," Plant Manager Robert Burkhart said. "But has been disadvantaged by its geographic location in relationship to the customers."

The Waco plant closure was part of the second phase of the company's restructuring.
