Waco ISD Continues Free Transit Rides for Students

Starting the first day of school, Waco ISD and the transit system have agreed to extend free rides for students.

This will run for the entire school year. The program won't cost tax payers anything. The program will be funded by left-over grant money from the 2012-2013 school year.

Any Waco ISD student can ride city busses free as long as they show their student ID. The program was put in place to help boost attendance and student activities.

Around 800 students took advantage of the free bus program during its trial run last May.
