Bell County man arrested for July 4th hit and run


A 19-year-old man suspect accused of a hit and run that occurred on July 4th at S. 2nd and Webster in downtown Waco has been arrested.

David Means was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force and charged with one count of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

Officers were called about a car hitting a pedestrian at S. 2nd and Webster on July 4. Officers responded at 10:45 p.m. and determined that a vehicle driven by David Means intentionally rammed another vehicle that had three people in it.

Police say that Means also intentionally ran over a fourth victim, 42-year-old Alex Chappa III, during the incident

David Means is being held in the Bell County Jail.
