Waco credit union robbery suspect arrested in Abilene
WACO, TX (KXXV) -
Police say the credit union robbery suspect who robbed CT Waco Federal Credit Union on July 8 was arrested Thursday in Abilene.
The local office of the FBI had obtained a warrant for 29-year-old Darryl Rashad Stoglin. He had prior weapons arrest and was considered armed and dangerous.
Stoglin was arrested by the Abilene Police during an unrelated drug raid of a home and then put into custody at the Taylor County Jail. He will be returned back Waco after he appears before a federal magistrate on Friday.
The robbery happened in the 7800 block of Central Park Dr. at around 9 a.m. back on July 8.
Police say Stoglin gave a teller a note saying he had a gun. He never displayed a weapon, but Stoglin was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Stoglin was wearing camouflage shorts and a gray t-shirt over a lime green shirt. He was seen running near the Colony Apartments on Woodway Dr. soon after the robbery.
Police thought credit union robbery suspect was in a home in the 2100 block of Live Oak Ave. They searched the house, but didn't find him there.
