Man sentenced to 45 years after 7th DWI charge

A 55-year-old man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison Tuesday after he plead guilty to his 7th DWI charge.

Weldon Lee McMillian plead guilty to his 7th DWI charge in McLennan County 19th District Court. He faced 25 years to life, but was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Weldon's most recent charge came after officers stopped him on the interstate. He was out on parole as he also had prior criminal charges other than the 7 DWI charges.

Weldon had been in prison three times before. Once for felony DWI, in which he served 4 years from 1997-2001. He was paroled in 2004 after serving just over 2 years of an 8 year sentence for burglary.

Then in 2012, he got out on parole again after 2 and a half years of a 9 year sentence for theft. He would have been paroled until July 7, 2018.
