Shooting, Stabbing and Fire at One Bell County Home

The Bell County Sheriff's Office says they have found a third person connected to last night's shooting, stabbing, and fire at a home on the 2800 block of Chaparral in Killeen.

The incident happened at around 7:30 P.M. when Bell County Sheriff's Deputies found Wayne Eugene Remaley, 59, barricaded near the front door of the home after being shot in the face when a domestic dispute with Susanne Lawrence, 54, turned violent.

According to the Bell County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence had filed a protective order against Remaley long before the dispute erupted.

During the incident, another man identified as Paul G. McDonald, 49, went to the home to aid Lawrence when he was stabbed in the arm.

McDonald was taken to the Metroplex Hospital in Killeen where he was treated and later released.

Remaley was airlifted to Scott and White Hospital in Temple where he remains in critical condition.

Remaley is also believed to have set a fire inside the home that left it completely destroyed.

Deputies had previously been called to this location for domestic violence-related issues in the past.

Sheriff's investigators say that the investigation is ongoing, and that charges have not yet been filed.
