Baylor's Scrivano Selected To Lead Texas Junior Team

WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis head coach Joey Scrivano has been selected as the Texas captain for the USTA Girls 18s National Team Championships to be held in Claremont, Calif., at The Claremont Club, July 29-Aug. 1.

"I'm honored to be selected as the Texas captain," Scrivano said. "I'm proud to live in Texas and represent the state in this prestigious event. I'm excited to be a part of the development of our top junior players."

The state's top seven players will play against teams from 16 other sections across the country in a Compass Draw Team tournament, with six singles and three doubles matches determining the winning team in each round. Different players may be used in singles and doubles. The results of all matches will be included in the data for the Girls' 18 National ranking.

    The McLennan Highlassies picked up two 6-0 shut-out wins over the Cisco Lady Wranglers this afternoon in Cisco. Lizzie Donaldson picked up the win for the Highlassies in the circle for game one and Kyleigh Homesley got the save.
