Dog alerts residents to garage fire in Waco

A dog alerted their owner to a fire just before midnight Thursday night after a car caught fire in a Waco garage. The fire was in the 1000 block of Oakwood and spread to a neighbor's garage.

The car caught fire in the garage and the fire spread to a neighbors garage next door. The neighbor was alerted to the flames by their dog, and was able to get their car out of their garage before it caught fire.

Once they got on the scene, firefighters were able to put out the fire in under five minutes, but the car that caught fire was destroyed.

There were four people in each house and no one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
