Police Investigate Homicide in Temple

Posted:
TEMPLE -

Temple police were called to a disturbance at a home at around 8:40 A.M. where they found a man in his 30's dead inside a back bedroom of that home.

Temple police do not know the exact cause of the man's death, and they have not yet released his identity, but they do know he suffered a major head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

43-year-old Willie Frank Roberson Jr. was taken into custody after being interviewed by detectives and the case will now by reviewed by the Bell County district attorney's office.

The early investigation shows that the man, Roberson, and a woman were all inside the home at the time of the incident.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, we're gonna kinda hold off on some details until we can kind of iron out really what happened inside the house," Temple Police Department PIO Christopher Wilcox said.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the man's death at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Temple police have to wait until they notify the next of kin before they can release the man's identity.

This case marks the second homicide of 2013 that's been reported to the Temple Police Department.
