Waco healthcare network lays off 52 employees

Providence Healthcare Network in Waco will lay off 52 of the employees. This is 2% of their staff.

The layoff will be spread across all operating units including the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program at DePaul Center, which will discontinue operations effective Friday, June 14, 2013, because of shrinking numbers. All other areas will continue to run their facilities.

According to Providence Healthcare, this is due to the Sequestration, Texas' decision to opt out of Medicaid expansion and the reductions in nationwide government reimbursement.

The staff who are being laid off will have the chance to apply for other jobs within the network that match their qualifications.
