Car goes up in flames after hitting cow, one dead

NAVARRO COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

A 20-year-old Red Oak woman was killed when the car she was a passenger in hit a cow and then caught on fire. The accident happened around 1:10 a.m. Sunday on I-45 at mile marker 223, about 6 miles south of Corsicana.

According to DPS, Emily Renee Teer was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2007 Dodge Caliber she was a passenger in burst into flames after it hit a cow.

19-year-old Charles Edward Dobbs Jr. of Midlothian was driving the car. Dobbs and another passenger were also injured, but their injuries were non life threatening.
