Former Lometa coach sentenced to 60 days in jail

The former head football and girls basketball coach for Lometa High School has been sentenced for three separate charges of improper relationship with a student.

The 27th District Court in Lampasa County has ruled that Wendell Earl Bradley will have to serve 60 days in county jail and 10 years deferred adjudication probation.

He must also participate in a recover program, pay a $3,000 fine, pay restitution for counseling for the victims and he can't have a teaching certificate during his probation period.

The sentencing has been held back 4 times because the defendant claimed he had an illness in his family.

The case is from August 2012 when Wendell was arrested for sending sexually explicit text messages to several students.
