Aggies to Play in 2013 Paradise Jam

Texas A&M fans have the opportunity to travel to U.S. Virgin Islands to watch the Aggies take on Texas, Memphis and Syracuse

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's basketball team will travel to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands next season to take part in the prestigious Paradise Jam, which will be held on the final three days of November.

The Aggies have been placed in the reef division of the Jam with Memphis, Syracuse and former Big 12 rival Texas.

"The Paradise Jam is something we like to take our players to and let them experience the island and good competition early in the season," head coach Gary Blair said. "We have played in the jam three times already in my career and I think this is the best Thanksgiving tournament going, with eight teams split in two four-team divisions and the majority of them having played in the post season last year."

The maroon and white will open play in the reef division on Nov. 28 at 5:00 p.m. (CT). when it faces Memphis. The next day, two schools that are less than 90 miles apart will take to the hardwood over 2,100 miles away as the Longhorns and Aggies are set to tip-off at 5:00 p.m. (CT). On the final day, Nov. 30, the Aggies and Orange will meet up at 7:15 p.m. (CT).

Fans of the Aggies are invited to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands and take in the great action at the 2013 Paradise Jam. Packages are available on the Paradise Jam website at www.ParadiseJam.com  and include lodging, tournament passes to all games, a tournament souvenir and bus transfers to/from games and airport.
