2 suspects in Waco sex trafficking case arrested in Alabama

A 39-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman suspected in a Waco sex trafficking case were arrested. The two were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Mobile, Alabama on a warrant put out by Waco PD.

The case if from last year and involves an underage female from the Waco Center for Youth. Police say the girl met David Ronald Mims and Julia Celia Walsh somewhere in Waco and the couple abducted her.

Mims and Walsh hired the girl out as a prostitute in Bellmead and then Corpus Christi. The couple threatened her to keep her from escaping.

When they were in Corpus Christi, the girl escaped and called her boyfriend. Her boyfriend came and got her and then contacted police.

U.S. Marshals joined the search after Waco police had a hard time finding the couple. The Marshals got information that Mims and Walsh might be in Alabama and found them in Mobile.

Mims, from Tyler, and Walsh, from Grapevine, have not been brought back to McLennan County yet.
