WEST, Texas (AP) - Federal officials have announced a June 18 deadline to register for certain disaster help following the deadly fertilizer plant explosion in Central Texas.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday reminded homeowners, renters and business owners in West of the deadline.

The April 17 blast claimed 15 lives and left about 200 people hurt. Several hundred homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed.

A July 1 first deadline has been set to submit Small Business Administration loan applications for property damage. FEMA says the deadline to return economic injury applications is February 3, 2014.

West is about 70 miles south of Fort Worth.
