Late night wreck kills one, injures five others

CORYELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

One person is killed and five others are injured after two cars collided in Coryell County Thursday night. Troopers have not completed their investigation, but initial reports indicate the accident occurred about 11:15 p.m. on Highway 36 and FM 184.

Six people were traveling northbound on FM 184 in a 2008 Dodge truck when it pulled onto Highway 36 and struck an 18-wheeler. 51-year-old Sandra Ann Barney was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and died at the scene.

The five other passengers were sent to Scott & White Hospital in Temple to be treated for injuries. 1-year-old Masan Marcal, 29-year-old Michael Marcal and 29-year-old Jason Barney are in stable condition. 7-year-old David Barney is in serious condition, as is 18-year-old Melissa Marcal who suffered a head injury in the crash.
