Soldier Arrested for Austin Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

A Ft. Hood soldier has been arrested, accused of being an accomplice in the kidnapping and sexual assault of an Austin woman last week.

Police believe 23-year old Jeremy Bolen of Killeen was driving the pickup a woman was raped in March 16th.

Bolen and a friend, Michael Broughton, are accused of pulling the victim off her bicycle near Chicon Street and College Row in East Austin around 12:45 a.m.  Broughton then allegedly assaulted her in the back seat.

He was already in jail on another charge when DNA evidence linked him to this assault, according to the Austin American Statesman.

Broughton later implicated Bolen in the crime.

Bolen is in the Bell County jail facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault.  His bond is set at $50,000 on each count.
