Baylor Back On Track After Nine-Day Break
It had been nine days in between games for Baylor before the Bears topped UTSA 4-3 on Tuesday at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears improved to 12-7 when coming off the long final exams break under Steve Smith. The win came with help from senior Wes Mercurio, who made just his second career start as it was his last home game. He blasted a two-run homer in the second inning to give Baylor a 2-1 lead and then hit a double and scored to tie the game in the fourth. Entering the game, Mercurio had just three extra base hits in his career. The homer was the second of his career.
